Meet our team

Christine Durfee, PhD, LPC-S

 

Dr. Durfee has been pioneering holistic approaches to mental health since 2011, integrating LENS neurofeedback and neurodevelopmental movement techniques within the framework of family systems therapy. She received her Master’s Degree from Corban University and earned her PhD in Counseling, Education, and Supervision from Walden University.


 

Dr. Durfee is certified as a Trauma Family Therapist, Low Energy Neurofeedback Practitioner, and Rhythmic Movement Training Consultant. Her clinical expertise focuses on supporting neurodiverse individuals and families. She is currently developing Neuro Family Systems, a new theoretical framework and set of counseling methods designed to address the unique needs of neurodiversity through an integrative, family-centered lens.

Patricia Lara, M.A.

 Patricia Lara is a former educator and school administrator with over 30 years of experience in child and brain development. She recently earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Childhood and Adolescent Disorders from Grand Canyon University. Patricia is currently providing services as a Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) technician. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, she is also an active member of the American Counseling Association. 

Daisy Perez, M.A.

 Daisy Perez is one of our dedicated LENS Neurofeedback training providers, deeply committed to helping others feel supported, empowered, and well. 


Born in El Paso, TX and raised in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, Daisy values the importance of culture, connection, and family. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Daisy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). She later completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, further strengthening her ability to support individuals and families through life’s challenges.


Her professional experience includes serving as a case manager for immigrant children ages 7 to 17, as well as providing care to children and families in the broader community. Daisy has worked with diverse populations facing a variety of mental health concerns, always bringing an open-minded and empathetic approach.

Nancy Castaneda, LPC-Intern

Nancy Castaneda, LPC-Intern is currently practicing under the supervision of Dr. Christine Durfee, PhD, LPC-S.


She is also a certified Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) clinician, offering an additional avenue to support healing and growth.

Nancy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Regent University and is nearing completion of her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. Guided by a deep passion for helping others, her work focuses on supporting individuals in overcoming trauma, navigating life’s challenges, and discovering their fullest potential.


She is committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches, Nancy partners with each client to support their unique journey toward healing and personal growth.

M. Teresa Lallathin, MPA, LMHC Intern

M. Teresa Lallathin, MPA, LMHC Intern Student is currently practicing under the supervision of Christine Durfee, PhD, LPC-S. 


She is a clinical trainee pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, a CACREP-accredited program. Teresa also holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Walden Baptist University.


With a passion for supporting families, couples, and military families, Teresa brings a deep understanding of military culture and the unique challenges it presents. She helps clients navigate emotional struggles with compassion, drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Equine Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies (MBCT), Grief and Bereavement Counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Somatic Psychotherapy.


Her philosophy is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported. Teresa is dedicated to walking alongside her clients on their journey toward healing, growth, and overall wellness.
